You can spot light and use artificial lights for them on private land too

At least my tag is unmolested
Aaaargh. I can't believe that CSP would tell you what game regulations are. That they got them wrong does not surprise me.

I agree with the others that have stated that if you decide to go without a license and get checked, good luck convincing the warden that you're working as an agent or that you out to kill a coyote that you saw kill a calf last week. A license is cheap, just no reason not to get one.

If you decide you really don't want to buy a license, you will need to make sure you have a letter from the landowner with their name and a good contact number and your name with the area that is their land you are permitted to hunt. Game Wardens will generally take this and be fine giving the landowner a call to verify that you are supposed to be there. But it is just so much easier to just get the license. I hunt coyotes on alot of private land and I always get a letter from the landowner along with my license to show the game warden if I get stopped because if they know the area they will know alot of the landowners in that area and wonder why you are there, so makes it easier to show them you have a letter from the landowner along with your license to make it easier for you. Just my experience while hunting on private land.
