It never hurts to ask but do keep in mind that there is a similar petition requesting that Tetrahydrocannabinols be removed from the Schedule I drugs list. Granting either of of these petitions would open a HUUUUUGE can of worms within Federal Statutes.

I do understand some of the fears, but I'm trying to understand how a 10 inch barreled rifle is more dangerous than a 16 inch barrel?
and suppressors in Europe are being sold in the hearing protection isle at a sports store...

sad and weird is all I can say... I hate the 6 month wait...

I wholeheartedly agree with you on this topic!

...and don't even get me started on the Federal Ban of automatic knives.

That's why they are banned... they must be clip fed if they are automatic.

I don't know the allowed timeframe to meet the min number of signatures but when I went to the listed site, it said that the petition had expired for lack of signatures.

The white house petitions are a publicity gimmick and should be regarded as such . The thing to remember here is that the NFA was created to DISCOURAGE ownership . At the time it was created the 200 dollar stamp was anywhere from 400% on up of the cost of the item . It's not even remotely realistic to think the government is going to make it easier and applying rational thought to the process is a foreign concept to the bureaucracy .

I've read about this and came across it a few times... thank God the price didn't go up with time. I guess my impatience has gotten the best of me at times and this is probably one of'em examples, but I have been doing really good so far
