    Default FORTIS MFG REV Free Float Rail

    I have been ogling this thing since it was posted on the Weapon Evolution page product announcements end of last year. Then saw pictures from Shot Show '13 and placed a pre order straight from FORTIS MFG in February.

    Showed up today and I got to say two things right off the bat; 1.) super light, only weights 9oz, I thought my package was empty it was so light. 2.) just looks GOOD it is very sleek, nice finish, my banging it around never even phased it.

    12" long, and features top and bottom full rails. Sides only has small rail sections on the front side, but uses Noveske's new "Key mod" standard for accessories the remainder of the sides. The back end is all bulked up, comes out on the sides, but looks like that was to have a stronger area around the lock up system. QD attachments are both sides, back and front, for a total of (4).

    Pre-install shots;

    The installation on this thing is so simple and easy, very positive lock up. The whole rail is a solid piece, except for a the clamp/bottom side which also goes over the barrel nut. Has (2) alignment prongs to align the top and the bottom has a "key" section. Slide on the rail, align to the top and put on clamp, tighten all 4 bolts, and BAM! SUPER SIMPLE!!!

    Some after install shots;

    I think I am going to upgrade both my AAC uppers with the REV rails instead.

    That looks great. Is it pretty solid up front?

    Solid up front? I am not totally understanding the question I guess.

    The rail is one solid piece, a free floating rail like a TROY, SAMSON etc. Wraps around a stock barrel nut and locks down, it is very "solid", no movement believe it would not be any different than the competitors rails I mentioned above.

    Depends on where you go;

    I got (1) from FORTIS MFG themselves it was $209 from them directly (also took the longest to get from them but it was a pre-order)

    The (2nd) one I got was from ROG TAC out of a stroke of luck in stock, they were always sold out as was Rainier Arms, both of these guys are a little cheaper at $199.

    FORTIS MFG has a 14" REV Rail coming out plus a Aimpoint micro mount to match the look of the rail in 1/3 co-witness.
