    Whatever it is hopefully he doesn't get charged. Would have been better to either skin it out and call it a coyote or leave it lay if they charge him. Their decision will be a good message to coyote hunters if they encounter such a situation

    Good point. A mis identification is still an unlawful taking but if the primary goal is to document occurrences then charging hunters who lack intent to violate the law would be counter productive.
