I swear I saw a wolf down near the Conejos river, about at the border of CO and NM. I was watching a herd of elk grazing, near dusk, when they suddenly turned and ran in to the trees, followed by a rather large animal. They were probably 3/400 yards off, but the predator chasing them was much too large to be a yote.

A local fishing guide said he thought there were Mexican wolves in the area, but I can't find any confirmed sightings.
