From the picture it appears to to be a Model HD Military, the condition looks a bit rough. Value would probably be around $300.
Take a look at gun broker for equal condition pieces and see what they have sold for.

I havent seen it in person. My nephew is a poor college kid that spends all his money on booze and his GF. He needs money so he was trying to sell a cheap/small boat when he was offered this in trade. He said something about "military training model"? I have never seen one of these either. He is wondering if he trades for it if he could sell it. Hes got $300 into his boat, so he may brake even?

Only to a HS guy. The general masses pass on anything with only 1 mag. The $300 range has them buying brownings and rugers.
Last HS i had took 3 weeks to move, has to be the right buyer and time. Then be ready to run with their offer, if you need money NOW!

Sorry to dredge up an old thread but I have to add that my wife has a Hi-Standard Model B (mfg in 1938) and it is an awesome pistol. It's as accurate and solidly built as they come. She paid $289 for it last year at Green Mtn Guns. Sourcing original mags for it has proven to be an impossible task. I've found aftermarket mags for it and though they cycle the ammo fine, they don't eject from the grip for shit. Still, if I was in the market for another vintage .22, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a HS if it was in good shape.
