Default How I Got the Wife to Start Shooting

This is the gun that got the wife to start shooting. She used to tell me I was crazy for liking guns. Then she told me the only way she would let me buy her a gun was if it was purple. Now that was something I could do. So I secretly built her this.

I then took her to an Appleseed class. She had a great time and got several compliments on the gun. Girls love compliments. She now enjoys shooting this, the Buckmark I bought her(my excuse to buy one since I needed one for shooting grouse while elk hunting), and she is now trying to claim one of the AR's. Now that we are having a kid she has even expressed interest in becoming more familiar with larger caliber handguns so she can conceal carry.

    Started with a stainless 10/22
Put Boyd's purple Evolution stock on it
    A Kidd Trigger Job kit
    A bolt buffer
Tech Sights peep sight (huge improvement over crappy stock sights)

Too late, it's already started. I have lost a number of firearms this way.

    Just funnin ya.
GREAT to see another lady interested in shooting. Even if it took a purple gun to do it. LOL

I taught my fiancee how to shoot a couple of months ago, on my Glock 23 with a 9mm conversion barrel. The first shot she was like, holy crap, that was more recoil than I was expecting. Next thing I knew, she was hitting bullseyes at 7-10yds and shooting better than I can lol. She has already expressed interest in taking a class to get her CCW too.

Best of all, she now wants to keep practicing, so my budget for monthly ammo has gone up quite a bit so that she can go to the range once every other week!

Congrats on getting your wife to shoot! Be prepared to have your gun budget double and somehow you get even less to spend on stuff!

Now you just have to have her buy into solving the loudness problem at $200 a pop (+ cost of can) and you've got it made!

Steel Challenge @ CRC on Saturday. There will be at least 3 ladies out there shooting their new .22s in their first match.
