Default Vickers or Viking Tactics Sling?

As you may know, i recently got my first AR. I bought a cheap $5 simple 2 point sling, and quickly discovered that's not going to work for me. I have been researching slings and have come down to the Vickers sling and the Viking Tactics padded sling. Both look pretty similar, main differences seem to be the Vickers doesn't have a loose tail end when adjusted, but otherwise they seem to be the same basic design, the vtac also has some padding.

Anyone own/used one of these? Opinions, better options? Does anyone locally carry these products or do i have to order?

Also, i was looking at a Daniel Defense rail sling mount which seems to be a good attachment point for the front, but how does the rear attachment work? Does it just loop around the buttstock?

I ran into the same questions awhile back with my new AR-I went to gearsector.com through ARFCOM-Jason Trusty was a great contact and does follow ups with you to make sure your happy and got what you
wanted and needed. Hope that helps.

I went with the Vickers. I was a bit skeptical about the loose tail on the vtac sling. I'm sure it's not an issue, but it was pretty much the deciding difference for me. I will hopefully have it by the end of the week, pictures and report to follow

Does any shop local sell QD Sling Swivels? I was looking to order one, and everywhere wants $7 shipping for a small part. It's already overpriced as it is (imo) i don't want to spend $7 and wait a week to get it. Or if anyone has one, let me know

Thanks. I was hoping they would have them, but of course their hours of operation aren't the best for just running down there and checking it out.

There were some simple instructions for building your own tactical sling on AR15.com and maybe on this site as well. I build several and were very happy with them.
