I got 5 doves this morning at the ranch, then it started getting to dam hot. I'm going to head out there again tomorrow morning and try to get a couple more, and make some dove stew for dinner. if not I'll just pull out the pellet rifle and pick some off the power lines outside my house.

Got my limit by 9:30 in Ft. Lupton this morning. Maggie had fun swimming up and down the irrigation ditch retrieving my birds.

Shot 11 doves out near Sterling on Sunday by 9:30. Then proceded to blast numerous prairie dogs for the rest of the day, even got my first double.

Decided not to hunt doves on Monday. Instead we setup a target gallery in my buddy's backyard of peaches and apples that had fallen from the tress for the kids to blast with various .22lr rifles.

I'm heading up to our Elk Camp tomorrow morning for the last week of Archery season. The weather has been so dang nice that I'm afraid the rut is late this year. I sure hope we get into them this time. Wish us luck, Lord knows we need it.

Best of luck Larry I seen a lot of elk on georgia pass. I also noticed they all had their horns polished I did not see anything in velvet. I also seen a ton of trees that felt the wrath of them removing the velvet.

    good luck!
