which AK is better?

hey guys, which AK is better Romanian or Yugo? Or is this a Ford Chevy thing? Any other things I need to look for? I am up in the air on prebuilt for $350 or build it myself for half the price. I read about the build parties going on but after reviewing arfcom and weaponeers stiff there seems to be alot of steel bending going on and while I enjoy working on my race car chassis and tube bending and welding I'm not shooting it if you know what I mean. Help guys?

I have a romy one and one i built, personally i like the one i built better cause it's cool

But for ease 350$ isnt bad.

In my eyes, the biggest difference Romy/Yugo is the Yugo's barrel/chamber isn't chrome lined, the Romy's is. Your call whether that's important to you, but note that either one may well have been used w/ corrosive ammo. I get a sense from browsing AK boards and vendor sites that folks think the Yugos are somehow tougher or better built overall, but I'm not sure why.

AK's are fun though so enjoy!

If they are for just shooting , both work well.If you're getting one for collectibility the Yugo will hold more value I would think.

Both mine are Romanian and they do just what I want them to do , shoot every time.

Buy whatever feels good to you. And have fun. JMO

Build parties are the way to go. Off the books and just like you want it.

My Romy G shoots as good as any other AK...plus I like it better because I built it myself!

If you're scared of bending the receiver, get one from NDS.

I plan on building one I'm just not sure I want to do it now.......I don't know still up in the air I guess I will just have to wait and see, maybe I will just get one of each and then goto one of the build parties. You can't beat that at all. All I have to do is figure out how to skim enough off my tax return to not raise suspicion of the wife.

I don't believe "an AK is an AK". Here are my two Bulgarians and my Russian... I wouldn't even put them in the same category as Romy's or Yugo's.

But, if I had to pick between the two, I'd pick the Yugo.
