Where to shoot in Longmont

I'm thinking about purchasing an AR15 but I have no idea where I can practice around the Longmont area.

Tried searching everywhere but have come up with nothing.

Anything out door would do. After several years in the Infantry I'm used to sitting and lying in the dirt.

Any help greatly appreciated.

North Site shouldn't be to far of a ride for you. I still haven't been, but i'm itchin to go.

north shoot area (see above)
left hand canyon (I wouldn't, but you can)
Boulder Rifle club (in the fall, for non-members, 15 year waiting list)
Front Range Gun Club (SE loveland, members only)
Weld county range (east of Ault) (members)
There's another range open to the public further east of WCR. Anyone remember the name?

and then Pawnee Grasslands (also east of ault)

Just out of curiosity where on Left Hand Canyon? Passed this area before but never seen of heard anything before!

Just drive up (for me) the 36, take a left on Lefthand Canyon Dr, and there are 2 turnouts that i saw where people were shooting. I checked it out, but didn't shoot. I went on a weekend, lot of yahoos to backup the things i read here, not my cup of tea. The Lyons spots must be what, 30 minutes from you? I would just go there.
