I have been thinking about towing while bugging out (a trailer to hold more supplies) and have come to the conclusion that it wouldn't be in my best interest to tow anything. If you are on a leisurely evac BEFORE the SHTF then that might be ok. But for those that plan to stick around at their primarily location as long as possible and use BO as a plan B, I think towing could get you into trouble. If it's already time for plan B I suspect the roads maybe congested and even dangerous. How many of you could go full speed reverse with a trailer if you were to come across some hostel BGs? I sure couldn't. Just a thought...

I haven't personally done many upgrades to my primary BO vehicle, which is a 3/4 ton, but I'd like too. It is however a FFV which allows me the capability to run ethanol which isn't the most available or efficient fuel but it can be manufactured rather easily if/when gasoline runs out. I keep enough jerry cans filled, rotated and on hand to make two trips with two vehicles to our primary BO location at a rural family property. Running fuel level in vehicles never allowed to get below half tank. Gear will go in the camper shell equipped truck bed and a cargo roof rack.
