Royal Gorge Area

Hey. This year our annual family reunion is going to be in the Royal Gorge area. Wanted to see if any of you knew of places to shoot around there. Looking more for forest land, but a range with reasonable rates would be ok. Any maps or phone numbers would be a plus.

I used to shoot on public land in Cotopaxi before the price of diesel got sky high. Just turn off the hwy at Cotopaxi, cross the river and go up about 2 - 3 miles. The turn off is to the right. IIRC it's BLM land. Lots of land with easy access and good backstops.

if you take a right turn off hwy.50 at texas creek, that is all blm land behind there as well. it is about 25 miles from the gorge.
