Would you guys recommend ladder testing 30-30 reloads out of an open sights model 94? Not going to shoot past 100-125 yards...

I would. Just to see how much variation in different loads and see if I could find an accurate and soft shooting round. Experimentation is fun and one of the by products is knowledge.

You would say that. Hah. $0.30 per projectile and 2 similar rifles. And limited supply of booolits.

As much as I like shooting my 94's, there is no such thing as enough booolits.

Good thing a box of 30-30 has been the standard gift for me from family for the last 30 yrs or so. Been trying to get every one switched to 556 and 308.

Started my first official attempts at reloading. Worked on establishing some baseline data. Then I started a thread about it.

Played with a new wet tumbler. I will advise how it works out soon.
