I've been trying to clean up a considerable amount of brass I have - with special emphasis on .223 so I can finally build 1-2k rounds. I've also got a kitty litter bucket of mixed brass I wanted to clean.

With the .223, I was de-priming/resizing it, running it through 3 minutes in an ultrasonic bath to clean it up and then an hour in a cob media tumbler to shine it.

I bought the Lyman Turbo Sonic 700 late last spring but hadn't removed it from the packaging until last week. It was smaller than I expected. I actually read the directions. I ran about 12 batches of .223, replacing the water/cleaner about every 3 cycles. The problem I had with that was pouring out the dirty fluid; there was no good way to do it. I then ran 3 batches of the mixed brass. When I went to start the 4th batch (after replacing the fluid) the unit just shut off and won't come back on. What I noticed at that point was lots of water beneath the unit. I had seen some under the unit during the previous 2 batches but thought it was slop from when I took the basket of brass out & shook it out. I was wrong. The seal around the top of the bin seams to have failed. I don't think I filled it past the "Max" line, but even if I did, the seal shouldn't fail like that.

The unit only cost $50ish which is cheap for ultrasonic cleaners, but that's a lot of money to me. I'm now really turned off of Lymans products & know I won't be replacing this unit with another Lyman device.

Worth a call to them to see if they'll replace it.

I don't know if this is where to post this...but as people that reload are the same people that use chronies...I've received a new gen 3 Magnetospeed chrony. I've read the instructions, but knowing the intricacies of these things, do any of you have any experience and words of wisdom on the finer points of using one of these (the kind of stuff not included in the instructions)?

And, I've got a Chrony Beta I need to get rid of now.
