Also think I'll give it a try with 165's for a hunting load in .308. Ever try that? New powder for me.
27.5 worked for the 55's set to cannelure with no pressure signs. I'm having a very hard time w over pressure with the cfe and 168 hornadys in both the bolt and ar10.
I started at 46.6 with fc brass and federal primers I got the Data from hodgdons website, but that data is for a Sierra and must not transfer to the hornady well. I will restart much lower and see where it ends up. The primer crater was horrible with large shiny ejector marks at 70 degrees, bad on the bolt and very bad in the semi. I'm pulling the rest of the batch down.
I own a chrono, but didn't haven't used it for either of these loads. Indoor range.

Take a look at IMR 8202-XBR. I was going to use some 748 i have, but after some "research" the XBR seems to be a better powder. Especially temp sensitivity wise.

There's a guy out of eaton that has some 1lb canisters i talked to this afternoon. Nice guy, fairly knowledgeable average pricing. The up side is the amount of powder he has in stock

8202-XBR has shown up at Cabelas often when they have powder, that's where I picked most of mine.

Haven't worked up any loads with it yet though, I barely have time to read the forums.

I use CFE223 in my loads and I run them pretty hard with 70gr Barnes bullets.

Meters great. I haven't had any issues in 223 at all. The 308 seems to be a data/my issue. Internet guys are reporting temp sensitivity.

I'm use the CFE as well in 223. I think it performs well.

Was suggested to me IMR 4166 is the "new go to" powder for temp sensitivity issues. That guy up in eaton has 1lb containers if you're interested, see previous post fro their info..

Found my pressure problem with the cfe223 and hornady 168. The hornady book lists 27.4 as max. I started at 26.6 based on hodgdon.

Spent a stupid amount of time looking for a brand new inner and outer belt and two ar500 half IPSec targets that I "think" are out there.
