Prepped 80 300 Win Mag cases for loading
Tried my new K&M neck turner. It works fine, but using it is almost the definition of drudgery to me. Then again, I hate each and every aspect of loading except putting the loaded rounds in the boxes.
I've also been using a borrowed Giraud Trimmer on a bucket of .223 brass. Having a trimmer that references off the shoulder and not the base took some thinking to understand, but it makes good sense. It's difficult to measure requiring two different measurements, but that's the only real drawback. Sure is fast.

Whole thing flooded in the rain right after I finished it..
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

Prepping 444 Marlin for reduced power loads. My test went great.
Loaded my first test batch of 22-250 with Nosler Ballistic Tip Varmint 40 grain projectiles, and 36 grains of IMR 4064. That's only about 15 grains more powder than my favorite .223 load with this projectile, but with a velocity of 3877 ft/sec. We'll found out how much more "bang for the buck" I get on my first Pdog this weekend!

Loaded 60 rounds of 223 with my new Lee Perfect Powder Measure. This is the first Lee product that I am HIGHLY dissatisfied with.
After running the full hopper through it (like the directions state), I started setting up the "micrometer". Set it for roughly 22gr of IMR 4895 and when weighed, it was at 18gr. Okay, VMD is a little off, increase it. Finally got it to weigh a couple at 22gr, so I started filling 50 primed cases with powder. And that "micrometer" is a joke. First, its plastic, second it is not even close to the advertised VMD's.I mean sure, it hits the mark and has roughly 10% play, but thats a massive fail for a reloading component.
Went to weigh them all just to make sure it was still good, the charge weight varied from 20.8gr to 22.9gr. Completely unacceptable! Ended up having about 25% of the charges were that far off.
Definitely returning this one. Any recommendations for a BETTER rifle powder dropper? Perhaps a metal one? And no, I can't afford a chargemaster.

38 Special - using TiteGroup - shoots nice in the Model 28.
Finished loading that pound of powder, almost exactly 25% of the rounds had charges that varied by up to 1.5gr off from the norm. Not sure if I got a faulty unit or what, but its definitely going back.
