I looked at a five gallon bucket of unprocessed brass and quickly left the room.

I keep plugging away prepping .223 brass. I've got about 3700 rounds polished, sized and de-primed. Of those, I've only trimmed about 700 cases. My Dillon super swager should arrive tomorrow so I'll start swaging soon. Man, this stuff takes some time. I've even got the Giraud trimmer which should make things easier/faster and it still takes some serious time. All the brass I've got is once-fired and about 3/4 of it is Lake City so I'm hoping the lack of swaging and minimal or no case trimming next time around will make it go faster.

I feel like once I've got the brass prepped and ready to load, it'll go pretty quickly with the Dillon 650. Time will tell, I guess. I'll probably do a bunch of pistol ammo first to get the hang of it since this is my first experience with reloading.

a dillion 1050 will solve your problem, along with their case trimmer. If you want to really get dirty, get a lee pro 1000 for decapping. I decap on the lee, then do a 3/4 resize on the dillon, then trim, then do a full length resize. Works like a champ...Sometimes you just gotta ask yourself how much your time is worth...

Sat back and guided a friend as he loaded 80rds of 9mm (took a while to get the lee adjustable charge bar dialed in) and a ladder of 18rds of 30-06 (weighing each charge because I don't have a powder dropper).

We're heading to the range tomorrow to blast some clays and test out his 30-06 loads.

My friend's pistol kept having FTEjects with his reloads, so we once again thought that the loads were too weak. But after having loaded 5.6gr of Accurate #5 behind 115gr Plated RN 9mm, I started questioning if it was his pistol. The max load for that powder is 5.9gr. Since we used a volumetric powder measure, I didn't want to go higher on the charge and thought we'd find a different powder for him.

Then he told me he was going to clean his pistol real quick and add some lube. Turns out his pistol was dirty and dry, he has never cleaned or LUBED his firearms because a friend told him not to. Well no wonder he was having malfunctions! After he lubed it, the pistol started shooting the reloads flawlessly!

In other news, I picked up a pile of pink 308 Win brass at the range while picking up my other brass. Headstamp was 61 over 92. At first I was excited that I got some nice 308 brass, but after doing some research, it appears to be copper washed steel cases from China.

Just a pic of the pink brass:

We had one go into the disposal.

I guess I'll re-tumble after sizing instead of washing them.

The Christmas LnL is finally set up to run 40S&W. There's stuff to learn the hard way getting it going with the powder through expander and the Po Man bullet feeder. It works like a champ. Next is to actually put powder in and adjust OAL. This has been FUN!

Tested my new .45acp loads! I had one FTFeed in my XDm. Very accurate in all our pistols that we tested with today. Now it's time to crank up the volume!
