Loaded up 32 Garand enbloc clips with milsurp .30-06, slipped them into the cardboard silencers and filled up an ammo can with them. I wish I had some extra bandoleers to fill. Oh well. My hands still smell of ammo even after washing them twice. With soap!

I did the stainless steel spoon like I do for garlic, it helped. I'm off to try the soap and toothpaste trick right now.

Been there. Went shooting back east day before flying out, wearing the same pants. OOPS. I did get a nice rub from one of the gender neutral TSA folk. Keeps them on their toes, i know all that texting during work hours gets boring for them.

The old dog learned a new trick. I'd read that putting a cap-full of mineral spirits and a cap-full of Flitz, or various other things in with the tumbling media will drastically shorten the time needed to clean and shine up your brass. Yep. It will. I did the first batch without, the second batch with, and then had to re-do the first batch, just to make it acceptable.
The first batch took a loooong time to clean, and never did look that good. More of a frosted but clean effect. The second batch took almost no time at all and looked considerably better. Now, I'm not one to require my brass to be all that shiny. It's just going to get dirty again soon. The impetus was actually to shorten the time I had to listen to the tumbler. When there are a LOT of cases, it makes a LOT of noise. I hate noise, with the exception of firearms going boom. I'm surprisingly okay with that. In fact I kinda like it.

Mineral spirits are nice, but shorten the media life . I use nufinish vs flitz more so for the price point, for a good finish. Used mineral spirits in the big dillon tumbler when i needed to clean 4- 5gal buckets of brass. Destroyed the media, but what a nice shine.

Cleaned, sized and primed 500+ .45, also cleaned and sorted a bunchof range brass.
My life working is only preparation for my life as a hermit.
