Don't get to carry this lovely little thing all that much, but I love it nonetheless.

Finally got the balls to get rid of the thumb stud on my Leek and install a zip tie to create the "wave" feature. I had to dremel one side of the thumb stud off in order to get a straight - ish side to press out the stud. I nicked the blade a little, but as a carry knife, I don't mind. A while ago I modded it by drilling and tapping a new hole to be able to use a low rider clip. It requires very little force on the zip tie, and the assisted open kicks in. Holy shit, this knife deploys fast!

I have a leek as my EDC as well, now I want to remove the thumb stud and give this a try.

I did just find something out though. The thumb stud acts as a brace for the blade. With it removed, and the blade is open and locked, I can still wiggle the blade up & down a tiny bit. (About a millimeter) it doesn't affect the engagement of the lock, it's still nice & strong. But the blade isn't completely SOLID in place. I might try using a bigger zip tie & see if I can get the same effect.

Edit: BOOM there we go! It might still wiggle a couple thousandths of an inch, but good enough for me.

I picked up a blemished Kershaw Skyline for pretty cheap on ebay. Man I love this knife! It's super light, has some really clean lines, and fits extremely well in my hand. I contacted kershaw and asked to buy a ZT deep carry clip and a couple days later I had one in my mailbox, free of charge. Drilled and tapped a new hole and WOW this knife is transformed. It rides super deep in my pocket too. I love kershaw.

I held this knife and can attest to how light and thin it is.

I managed to lose my SOG Flash 2. I'm thinking about the Kershaw Cryo as a replacement.

Original Cryo or the Cryo II? I believe the Cryo II is much beefier and slightly longer blade...?

I'm leaning towards the original. I don't need much more than a 3" blade for EDC and it saves on size and weight.
