One can use a PO box if there is a worry about thieves listening in. Singlestack, you are dead on, in that we should meet in person to plan out the net, and any other associated language. As for eXRS, there is Dstar, but there are limits to that as well, in that if there is a breakdown of the internet, you lose the linking.

Put together a meeting, preferably a sunday, and we can discuss in person. Only suggestion, keep the invited list limited to active members, and if you guys are serious, lets move this to PMs

No association with COAR-15 on the net. So if someone outside the group was either listening in or on this forum, they wouldn't be able to connect the two.

What would be ideal is something like eXRS, but with greater reach to include more of the state: http://www.trisquare.us/company.htm
Interesting radio's. My first glances at them and the radio band, makes me question the distance and reliability of it. 1 watt digital? 900mhz ISM Band? Interesting though. Worth messing with depending on the price of radios.

I'm down for a meet and greet most likely, just depends on location and time etc.

From what I've seen of the eXRS, they only work with each other, and not much power.

I think of the eXRS as an improved FRS radio, and nothing more. They are short range radio with good private conversation capabilities. More of a tactical walkie talkie...

Sunday would work the best for me, as well.
