Bah. Just have to get on the air and do it. Make sure you have the repeaters entered in correctly. The colorado connection and colorado repeater assoc. repeaters are usually well monitored

I think I have been listening to a few of them, I'll program the rest and see if I can successfully get to them to verify I did it right tomorrow.

It wont kill you. Just listen to how they talk on the repeaters. Remember, ID every 10 min or less. It usually helps when talking via a repeater, key up and wait a second before talking. Some repeaters, especially linked repeaters need a short delay, otherwise the first thing you say will be cut off.

Remember, 147.00 and higher, positive offset, +600khz. Below 147.00, negative offset, -600khz. Then you have your PL tone. That's it.

Yay, fun with Baofengs. I just missed one of the special purpose nets I might have been able to hear. Might just be me but I don't currently hear anyone.

Theres a crew of people who chat during their am commute in the metro area. Cant remember what repeater they use, but you'll find them around 7-8am. Gives you an idea on how a group carries on a chat. I usually have my radio on in the am and pm commutes, but typically its on the 146.970 machine here in town. Normally you guys up there can ping it, but they are running a temp antenna until the summit house roof is done on the peak. It lacks the sensitivity and range of the original setup.

Did my FIRST radio Check with someone through a 149.867 repeater out in the Castle Rock area. Quite impressed with this little radio. Only upgrades I am using is a 14" antenna and a larger battery. He could hear me just fine.
