Most of the processors/butchers will deep freeze and ship your meat packed in dry ice to wherever you want. I shot a couple of nice little eaters last year and had them shipped. Young ones tastes like domestic pigs. In my experience, older ones are usually very very lean and taste like shoe leather unless you grind them into sausage. Shoot every pig you see of course but find a fat little 70 pounder or two if you're looking for meat. Leave the rest in the mud.
300BO is a great pig killer. I'm not sure if I've ever taken a shot farther than 75yds when hunting them. My dad just purchased .458Socom upper for his monthly hunts and apparently pigs don't argue much with that round either. I usually hunt with a 45-70, 270, 30-30, or 7.63x39. Each worked very well.
