    Finally got out this weekend, and we went three for three. I got mine in a successful ambush near the roosting trees behind me in the photo. Shotgun at 40 yards.

    Two of us got Merriams and the last guy ended up with a Rio. Great fun was had by all.

    No, private ranch between Torrington and Cheyenne. Birds had never been hunted, as evidenced by the one I shot just walking calmly away from where a hunting partner missed with two long shots, like he just didn't like the noise.

    Nice bird! So far only heard a few gobbles last week and my hunting ground is covered in snow again now. Lots of tracks but both toms i found were henned up.

    Rolled this Jake out in Nebraska, bowhunted for 3 days and it was pretty slim going so I used the gun on day 4.
