I have to agree. The SOGs are wonderful. Then again, I've had this Swiss Army knife since 1990.

Oh yeah, for the tiny pocket tool, the Victorinox swiss army knives are hard to beat. I've been carry one since about that same time, although I replace it periodically with the same model as the scissors dull and things loosen. My favorite is the "Manager" model. That, the SOG, and an ITP A3 EOS mini CREE light (amazingly bright, 4 modes, and uses a AAA battery!) live in my pocket every day. Leaves me prepared for most anything.

This was a super fun knife. Unfortunately first the safety stopped working. Then the kick stopped working.

Frustrating. S&W knives always look great, but from what I can tell, are all made in China to low quality standards.
I picked up a S&W knife for a beater. It's alright, nothing fancy and I won't feel bad for beating up a $20 knife.

Don't get to carry this lovely little thing all that much, but I love it nonetheless.

Finally got the balls to get rid of the thumb stud on my Leek and install a zip tie to create the "wave" feature. I had to dremel one side of the thumb stud off in order to get a straight - ish side to press out the stud. I nicked the blade a little, but as a carry knife, I don't mind. A while ago I modded it by drilling and tapping a new hole to be able to use a low rider clip. It requires very little force on the zip tie, and the assisted open kicks in. Holy shit, this knife deploys fast!

I have a leek as my EDC as well, now I want to remove the thumb stud and give this a try. :)
I did just find something out though. The thumb stud acts as a brace for the blade. With it removed, and the blade is open and locked, I can still wiggle the blade up & down a tiny bit. (About a millimeter) it doesn't affect the engagement of the lock, it's still nice & strong. But the blade isn't completely SOLID in place. I might try using a bigger zip tie & see if I can get the same effect.
Edit: BOOM there we go! It might still wiggle a couple thousandths of an inch, but good enough for me. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...ba328c0c5d.jpg
