By the way, kazoo, since you're here, I'd really appreciate your expert opinion ( ) on my Primer Blow Out(...) thread that I linked above.

Thanks kazoo for the input, it definitely scared me while at the range with the amount of smoke I got on that 42.8gr charge and then that the bolt wouldn't open. Do you think any damage could have been done with the bolt not opening or was it just jammed from the primer being shot out?

Alrighty, thanks for easing my mind a bit, really appreciate it! The range master had never seen it before and he's reloaded for years apparently. He said he saw the ejector face marking on the case head, but didn't see other signs of too high of pressure for hte primer to blow out, so we were leaning towards loose primer pocket.

Just researched it a bit real quick, found that if the bolt is stuck, the load is way too hot and you need to back it down a bit.

yes & no. I'm runing 22 mag in a 77/22 depending on the ammo i have issues. I doubt 22 mag is over pressured from the factory. NOT to discount hot loads. That's one of the reasons the remaining 223 i have intermittent issues with, is for bolt action only. Every 223/5.56 AR we have is nfa, i sure the hell not risking damage to them.
