    Default Government Disaster Training

Most government training is a disaster. Most government is a disaster, and you should be trained in dealing with it.
But this training is FEMA training for dealing with natural and man-made disaster response. Everything from how to bug in, to managing emergency responders. Maybe more importantly, it's all free, online, and for those of you that need a certain amount of training a year, you get CEU certificates.

Hope someone finds this stuff interesting.

Yeah, I just started taking a few random courses. No sign up or anything. They'll just keep a record of what you've done, so they can respond to the college credit requests.

Chicken. What is sad about all this is as a DOD employee I have a list of about 60 classes a year I have to take online. In addition there are always new ones and the ones you have to take in person.

I want some to know how this all works. All those rules and regulations the .GOV puts out everyone in that field are supposed to comply with? On the civilian side they (for the most part) are just checked off on boxes and forgot about. in the world of the DOD employee it takes about 100 hours of labor away from the job each year at least. The FedGov says this is training that needs to be done. The civie side says pencil whip it and get back to work.

I have taken 116 sexual harassment classes in my lifetime so far....

It was not until the "sexual assault" course that came out a year ago (mandatory training in person 1 hour) that I learned how to apply the tricks of the trade in harassment.

Never had an issue but it is just one of the things like "OPSEC" that after 29 years gets a little stale? when they keep showing the same thing over and over.

I can't imagine how boring and repetitive that must be! Good grief, leave it to the government to waste your time year after year on a subject that I'm sure most 6th graders understand!
I mean sexual harassment 116 times? Wow.

Back on a serious note, is there much value in the classes offered? How would you utilize them without working for FEMA?
    They definately interest me..
