10-22 mags which ones are good

I've got some older eagle 25 or 30 round cap mags, they are still running strong. They also next together giving you 50 rounds by flipping them pair over.

Not sure if the eagle mags are made anymore. The steel lips ones should be good too. I'll buy some 10/22 mags in the future and report here their status...

any of the staggered mags like the eagle 30 or 50 rounders I've had trouble with. The single stack mags like butler creek 25 rounders work well, I've had a plastic lipped one since 94 that's still running.

You can also get the flip over blocks for the stock 10 rounders.

forgot about those 10 round blocks, those were a great Idea, saw them at the last tanner show. Might have to get some of those!

my factory ruger mags arent dirty. after posting i opened one up and figured out that tightening the spring would probably solve the issue. i would like to have more than 10rds capacity, but i had larger mags many many years ago and have stuck in my mind that they are crap.

They might not look dirty, but take them apart and you would be amazed how much wax and powder residue builds up in there. And if you shoot a 22 with a can on, it gets really bad.

really!, mine will not feed worth crap in my 10/22 it jams every other round and will only cycle if i put 15 rounds in it give or take! but the steel lips feed perfectly it is pretty new since last dec might have a factor!

I've shot the steel lips and they work a little better, but i've never really had any that were a pain.

I've had the Butler Creek 25 round "hot lips" mags for YEARS and have yet to have any probs in my 10/22 carbine. Bought a few more just last week from a member here.

huh weird, i will try it a few more times maybe play around with different types of ammo. the butler creek steel lips i have no problem with just the all plastic clear ones! o well
