They say a project is never finished even when it's "finished". Here's the stress, umm, I mean project I've had the past two years...
Before. No, it wasn't as nice as it looked...

Got a question for those with "projects'
Besides "don't have time"
What is your biggest hurtle to overcome? I don't have the shop for a full frame off resto-mod so I'd have to buy a rolling chassis. But also don't have all the specialty tools to drop in an tranny and engine.
What are your hurtles you need to overcome for a first project?
Start small, something that needs a little work and sell it when done. Work your way into the next.
Rust sucks. Expensive to fix correctly and more expensive to have someone else fix it.
Readily available parts, don't buy something too old or rare.
Time and money and tools. A lot can be done with a few tools and time. More can be done faster with better (proper) tools.

All great advice!
People sometimes jump in head first and try to do a full resto on their dream car and get overwhelmed. Get something that wont frustrate you and drain the bank account. Buy them right and you can keep moving up until you get your dream car without having to start with a super project because it was the cheapest.
These two are dead in the water taking up space in my garage.
The truck had a 350/350 combo in it and in June 2013 I blew the motor coming home from the Goodguys show. I'm currently installing a 6.0 LSX that's been massaged a bit and a 4L80E tranny in it. Motor and tranny are in now, still needs wired, plumbed, and exhaust.
The Cadillac lost a water pump summer of 2015, and in the process of changing that I got pissed off because half of the bolts broke off in the block and I pushed it aside.
I really need to get both of them on the road again, my wife and kids really like cruising and it's been a while.
Both of them back when they were on the road.
For the last few months my dad and I have been working on this 1966 CJ5a that my grandpa bought brand new. It's been a fun project.![]()
Nice old jeep! My dad has a project CJ2A he drives around now and then.
Depending on your tastes, start with something that has readily available parts from places like LMC Truck or Auto Metal Direct - Ford/Chevy Trucks, Jeeps, Mustangs, Camaros etc. Unless you're wanting to spend hours and hours learning to weld and do sheet metal work.
Im selling a great entry level muscle car in the trade zone if anyone is looking.![]()
