We had two chickens get killed in the past month from either a racoon or cat (both have shown up in the middle of the night on the game camera).

Have you looked at Hubitat?

Seems ST has reliability issues according to some?

I'm using Wink and starting to tire of their issues (we had a long outage last week), though it's super easy to setup and run and is otherwise solid. Only problem I'd have now moving to Hubitat since ditching my POS relays is moving to Hubitat would mean buying not only their hub (Raspberry Pi based) but I'd also have to buy a Lutron Hub Pro (that isn't needed with Wink) to support all the Lutron switches (lots) that I have.
