Additional fun to share....my first Federal Jury summons has occurred. A couple of bad things about this potential are the fact that if I'm selected to appear, I must drive down to the shithole that some people call Phoenix, and find out if I get "picked". If that happens then I'll be subjected to staying in some crappy hotel near the courthouse for two fucking weeks....blow me. Not only will I be missing my wife and my dog the whole time, I'll have to tell the kid to cancel his trip down here and reschedule it. There's no fucking way I'm driving back and down every day, and no point in coming home for a weekend to either pay for a room I'm not staying at, or having to hope to get another room the following monday.

The idea of sitting in on some "big Federal case" does kind of intrigue me, but I'm certainly not impressed with the inconvenience of it all. I had a morality discussion with the wife the other day and pointed out I could easily get dismissed by saying wacky shit or pulling the medical card .... etc, but a lingering reality is I might be able to participate in saving an innocent person, or sending a devoted shitbag off to prison for a long time.

I'll find out on the 16th if any of this will progress.

OBC, My wife got selected for Colorado Grand Jury a few years back.

She had to go sit in court every month for (as I recall) for whatever the trial length was (1-3 days typically), for 12 months. Basically one trial/month.

Fkn moron wouldn't STFU during the service when other people were speaking, kept getting up and down, etc. Pretty sure he was drunk. And this was a Catholic Funeral Mass in the church.

It's been a bad week for da Cat....my phone was literally destroyed on wednesday and verizon is fucking arguing with me about it when I've paid insurance on it for like 7 years, wife had a flat on thursday and I wanted to get it repaired yesterday but after the second round of spine injections I couldn't even stand for several hours afterwards let alone walk. Got a letter today from a state appointed psychologist to evaluate my mental cognitive abilities on the same day I was going to head to PHX if I'm selected for the following monday. The really strange thing about it is that it's at a hotel on a sunday....wtf? It's kinda like meeting a drug dealer or an escort or something....creepy.

Soooo, when I walk into the lobby they slap a straight jacket on me? No room number or any other kind of instructions in the official letter. And other than email/internet I've been cut off from the rest of the world. Can't call anyone, had an electrician to do some work for me but I have zero contact info until my phone is replaced.
