Default Valuation of a gun? AR-180

I have a family member looking to sell his Armalite AR-180. It is a later production model made by Sterling, probably around 1983-1985.
Pretty much Mint condition, almost never fired with the sling and at least one factory mag.

i haven?t been nearly as up to speed on black rifles lately. I looked at gunbroker and prices are all over the place. So hoping to get some thoughts from you all!

Last one I saw for sale earlier this year was listed for $2300.

I'd think a bit more than that, perhaps north of $4,000 if it's indeed in "pretty much Mint condition" and has the original sling and mag. More than 1 mag would mean more $ too. See if you can find someone online with one for sale, or recently sold, and try to get their opinion too. You could also simply post it on gunbroker or elsewhere with lots of high res pics and ask whatever you want, and see if you get any bites. GLWS.

Guns dot com has three for sale, with fairly good photos for comparison.

It's a measure of the civility in this country that no ones seems to fear constantly pissing off the people who own lots of guns.

Thank you all. Looked at that website and gunbroker and prices are all over the place. Guess it just depends on how much someone really wants it. Pretty rare rifles so list high and see what happens!

Yeah I did, mostly depends on when and where they were manufactured and of course the condition but they are all over the place from $1400 to $6000

AR-180 prices are all over based on who manufactured them so make sure you are comparing the same rifles.

    Armalite/Costa Mesa (4018), Howa (3927), and Sterling (12,362).

I belive that Howas bring the most money with the Costa Mesas close behind and the Strelings tend ot be the cheapest. Howas are considered to be the best finished versions.

At local shows and shops, I've seen $1400-2100. Higher with the original scope and mount, 40rd mags, factory box. I have two 20rd mags and newer Armalite scope mount in anticipation of getting one, but like my dream Jeep, it hasn't happened.

His is a sterling made, closer to the end of production based on serial number but from the pics he sent me it looks incredible.
