Best Single Pistol Safe/Vault For Multiple Locations in Home

I've got two V-lines that I quite like for these purposes. Stoutly built, simplex mechanical push button combination lock that is very fast to operate, and no batteries to worry about. A bit pricey, but excellent for keeping curious little fingers to themselves.

Actually, I have an old v-line that has suited me well. Another good recommendation, if I can get him away from the biometrics.

I should mention it has Fingerprint (multiple storable), code AND a good old manual key JIC you let the battery go too long.

How old are the kids? The younger they are, the more alternatives available. The older they are, the more precautions you need, especially if they're untrustworthy. Not too difficult to break into those, especially if they're removable.

Kids will range from toddler through preteen at different times. Adults watch great grandkids a fair amount and right their adult daughter and the preteens are staying temporarily while the situation gets sorted out.

You can probably take a fair guess at what the situation is from that. I don't even know the exact details myself yet.

Concern is that a certain individual may be a bit of a loose cannon even with a protection order in place.

IMO, in a potential situation where need to access something is seconds away. ON body carry. versus a quick access safe in every room. With all the people in the household, the stress of the moment, trying to get family members out of the way quick enough to reach the safe is too long in a defensive situation. On body carry PROVIDING he can safely (key word) safely draw from concealment without flagging anyone, is the way.

No matter what he decides, i highly suggest the family have a plan in place if said threat enters the home uninvited. Who does what, where do the kids go, how does one prevent the threat from getting past any entrance into the home.

When my kids were growing up, we did Home Invasion drills so everyone knew what was expected of them in any given situation.

Along with on-body, I think there was a concern that it would be off hours/dead of night situation when not carrying.

WML or hand held illumination? What have they been practicing with? What ammo, where are the other rooms where family will be if a late night HI happens? Does he know his target and what's beyond it? First thing to address is outside illumination and cameras. We run solar powered motion sensor lights, along with ring cameras.

2nd is to practice for low light / no light drills.

What's the distance from his bedroom to entry points? The list goes on and on.

Slightly OT. Have a woman veteran down here who had an I NEED A GUN IN EVERY ROOM! mentality. Due to issues in her area. She was under the impression this would give her the opportunity to access one in a situation. Suggested she forget the entire every room mentality. Get a good holster, belt etc so she only had the one with herer when ever she was awake.

Depending on a "gun in every room" also gives the opposing team ease of access to any of them where you're not.

Remember a safe, like a locked door, only keeps honest people out.
