not that it would help much in a scenario like this.
to be honest I would only recognize the guys I've sold to /bought from.

The problem is that I don't know that I am REALLY ready, but I think I am a lot more ready than most citizens and continue to prepare while at the same time not getting nuts. The thing I worry about is the loved ones I have that are just not along the same line of thinking. Would I say that I wouldn't help them if they met up at my place? I don't think I could turn them away. I suppose I would be giving them lots of work to do to help out if that happened.
The other thought is, I think there are a lot of us like-minded people prepping as much as possible. Given what I do know I think we would want to stick together, sooner rather than later, to take back the place which we so dearly love. I also have a family to think about but at the same time, I am not willing to give up this country and this land that I served, that my father and grandfather fought for. I am not willing to walk away and give it to looters, criminals, or enemy armies.
Love it. I'm afraid we'd die so fast. Sad, but true.
Oh yeah, and the link doesn't work. Can we at least get help with that?

The red strips on my knees are now a deep purple and my feet have fallen asleep. I read this while sitting on the toilet and lost all blood flow to my lower extremities! I shoulda scroleld down before diving into this! Thanks Wulf202! I now have to crawl to the shower to clean myself off!
You do make some good points though.
I bet we've all heard at one time or another "Well when TSHTF I am coming to your house!"
I plan for short term interruptions in society for my wife and I, and no one else. There is no way I would be able to feed/water/shelter all my friends and family that refuse to have even basic necessities at hand.
That said, I doubt I could turn anyone I know away. For this reason I often find myself trying to explain the fragile nature of our society. For example, the strikes in Europe going on right now. If the truckers or refinery workers decided to strike today, how long would it be before the shelves at King Soopers are empty? Maybe a day or two if there is no panic.
I have often thought of creating some buckets with basic food and spices as well as a knife, water treatment, and cooking supplies to give to family members.
