    Being able to get by for 3-4 weeks is what I grew up with. There was no talk about survivalists back in the 60's-70's except for some of the nut jobs that wanted to create there own "utopia".

    Seems like a push to bring back canning. I wouldn't mind learning more about it
    I did a canning class a few months ago. I see it is time to do another.

    I watched too, thought it was clever how the couple turned their swimming pool into a greenhouse. And all the various mini systems that supported each other. Apparently they must not have a HOA, could you imagine doing something like that in Highlands Ranch?

    My wife and I grew up in the Midwest, canning is what everyone did in the fall, simply being self-sufficient. I'm grateful we grew up with that instilled mind set. We'll start canning soon, as we do every fall.
