1. I am no Simo Hayha. My effective range is just on the south side of 150 yards. Much beyond that, I'm not very accurate, and I DESPISE the idea of a "non-clean" kill. If I can't drop the deer FAST with one shot, I don't take the shot. That's just me.
I cannot tell you how glad I am that you know who Simo Hayha is, it's a shame you can't hunt with a 7.62x54r there! I will second,...no fourth.... well I just agree with everyone above who said the shotgun with a rifled slug... 12 gauge slugs pack a wallop!
