    Are there any negative effects of running .22 LR through a .223 bbl?

    Yup. Accuracy is crap. And you have to clean it within an inch of its life before you should shoot 223 through it.

    Get a Tactical Solutions or Spikes conversion with a 22lr barrel instead of a centerfire barrel.

    I got the insert in while I was gone over the weekend. Initially it looks good, smooth function. I'll try and test it out this weekend.

    Not to disagree with you Hoser, but the CMMG pamphlet that I received with the insert states that to clean the bore after shooting .22LR, fire a rifle round to clear the leading, then clean like normal for an AR.

    Never done it myself, don't know if it would affect pressure or not.
