Default Compiling list of ranges for Map, need help

With the Rampart closing I've been getting a few questions about my home range BLGC. This got me thinking, and I started looking in the "Places to Shoot" area. There isn't really a map showing where all the gun ranges in CO are located. I found this odd. I asked the thread mod about it and was given permission to try to put a map together.

OK, so here's the deal. I need help identifying all the ranges in CO, public and private. I also need some serious help in figuring out how to plot them all on a map that can be posted and stickied to the top of this forum area.

Here are the ranges I have shot at in CO and most have web sites:

    Ben Lomand Gun Club
    Aurora Gun Club
    Cherry Creek Family Shooting Center
    Boulder Rifle Club
    Clear Creek County Rifle Club
    High Plains Shooting Range
    Pueblo West Sportsman's Assn
    Whistling Pines Gun Club
    The Firing Line
    The Shootist Pistol Range
    Pawnee Sportsman Center

This has been the best list I've found so far:
    http://www.nrahq.org/shootingrange/f...l.asp?State=CO
I have no idea how valid this list is.

    Thanks for your help.

I know a few.. But one does have to be up for a road trip... All nice ranges though.. At least they were when I was last there.

Hot Sulpher Springs- About 8 miles west of the town, on 40. Range out to 200 yrds. *was* maintained by DOW. Closed in winter..

Springfield Rifle range- If this one was closer, I'd be at it every weekend
15 miles south of Springfield.. Range to at least 1000 yrds, use to be an "antelope" at 800 yrds. Covered bench.

Las Animas Rifle range- About mid way between Las Animas and Adobe Resevoir. Bare bones, out to about 110 yrds.

Mike Higbee SWA. between Lamar and Granada on U.S. 50. Concrete benches out to 100 yrds.

Not saying any of them are "close". But, if You find yourself needing "to get away from it all" for awhile..

Did you ever make any progress on this? Seems like it would be a great resource.

Green Mountain Family Shooting center on Wadsworth and Jewel is a very nice indoor pistol range. They also have indoor 100 yard rifle range.

Dragonman's not on the list. He's here in Colorado Springs, has up to 220 yard rifle range. There is always a RO on duty on the 100 yrd range (rifle/pistol). Reputation as a jerk, but he's been more than nice to me and wife on all occasions. All clear to bring mg's and cans as long as you have your paperwork.

As far as putting a map together, might be best to .jpeg a google map, and just photoshop thumbtacks into it with small descriptors?...

It's easy to do this with Google Maps. You can then post a link to the map (and there's even a way to download the location data from the Google Map so you can plug it into other mapping software). PM me if you'd like help with this.

ETA: Also, I don't see the Silver Bullet Shooting Range on your list. It's a decent indoor range that allows not only pistols but also rifles up to .308.

Rocky Mountain Shooting Supply has a nice little pistol range in Fort Collins.

The Izaak Walton League/Pikes Peak Gun Club- Membership, or can pay to come on, not sure if you need to be with a member.
