Sprinfield Armory Issues Recall on XD Pistols

If it was a defect that could cause an AD, then they were probably strongly encouraged by their liability carrier to start the recall as soon as possible.

Yeah but 1) that's not a mystery as to if you need to do it or not (simple test procedure) and 2) they've already corrected it on models after 8/19 and are repairing those that are affected and sending them back. That's a LOT more than I can say for Springfield Armory.

Anyone want to buy an XDS in 45? lol I will eventually get around to fixing my wife's, till then... I'm glad she's grown accustomed to the P2000sk.

Speaking of buying a XDs. This guy is trying to dump his claiming it is Not part of the recall. Of course it is part of it. I really hate when people are dishonest.

We are pleased to announce that the process of upgrading XD-S™pistols has begun, and we will start shipping TODAY on a first-received/first-upgraded basis.

In our last update, we reported that upgraded pistols would start shipping sometime next week. But our team has been working around the clock and we are thrilled to start shipping today.
Once your pistol has been upgraded and is shipped back to you, an e-mail confirmation with tracking information will be sent to you at the e-mail address you provided.

Sounds like mine was the test mule if it's already on it's way back. lol

They also said last week that they would be including a extended mag with every one shipped back to say "sorry"
