There is always a waiting list for the public area during weekends but rarely any wait for the member only area. Fee: $12 non-member, $6 member. Membership: $140 first year, $125 thereafter. Non-brass ammo ok.

Gun rental is $10 but you have to buy their ammo for rental.
I post the range website for all that information. I don't want to update the map every time an individual gun range updates their website.

    Default Canon City Club/Range

Just on the north end of Canon City the Royal Gorge Gun Club has a really good, and from what I've seen- under utilized range. Membership is required, and bring your own targets. They have a rimfire bay, pistol bays, Trap house, and rifle range (with pits) to 1300 yds. Shot a few of their pistol matches over the summer, pretty informal standard IDPA type shoots, same 8-12 shooters every time. Don't know if this place isn't getting used intentionally, if there are issues with range/club authority, or if nobody knows about it. Figured I'd toss it out there.

    Default Red Hill Gun Club

East of Sterling is the Red Hill Gun Club. It's private, costs about $100 the first year and then goes down to $50 or something like that (I can't remember what I paid last year) depending if you take part in the annual clean up day.

No RO so it's informal and you have to provide your own targets of course. Has a pistol area out to 100 yards, and 50, 100, and 200 yard ranges. It also has a 235 yard metal gong and if no one else is there there is a table set 100 yards back from the others that makes it a 300 yard range.

When you get your membership they give you a key to the gate and you can bring as many guests at a time as you want.

You just have to watch out for the cattle that wander through every once in a while.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the rifle tables are 4-6" concrete in a T shape with 6-8" steel pipe sunk into the ground for bases, rock solid.

Ya, that's a good one and not on there. I'll see if KL7 can update the map.

The map has gotten very good. KL did a pretty good job in this. There are ranges on here I've never even heard of.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.
