I know cell phone cameras are everywhere, but I often need a bit more for work. I have been using the Tough Cameras since they came out...I think I have like 5 of them that will likely go up for sale soon. But the new TG3 has a microscope mode and an option LED ring light for Macro work. The focus stacking is pretty nice too. More resolution than I can get with the Smart Phone Magnifier.

Yeah, I hear ya man. I wish cell phones had actual optical zoom which is one thing that I greatly miss from our little Elph cameras that I spent WAY too much money on over the years. I found myself forgetting to take that though on more and more trips and rather than carry two devices so I get ideal imagines I chose to sacrifice ideal a little bit just to get images that I otherwise wouldn't get if I didn't have a camera at all. Sucks but I guess that's where we live until camera phones take that leap into caring about more than megapixels.

I've seen them but I want a phone with it built in. I can see myself leaving it at home or seeing it as too much of a PITA to dig out of my bag just like I do with the Elph or the camera like yours. If you're going to spend $200 and have a separate device to lug around and worry about caring for and charging... might as well be a decent camera.
