I am all ready to go. CVA Apex will be using see all sight, powerbelt aerolite bullets, blackhorn 209 powder.
I have GMU 38 tag thus I will hunt in golden gate canyon park(jeffco side) and off eastern portal.

We confirmed it was black powder in his second load, God only knows what he had loaded in the barrel the previous season.

It could be that he only short started the ball as well. Given that it is the entire barrel that is split, this would be my guess.

I went out yesterday and all we saw was a ridiculous amount of hunters. My normal hunting spot that normally has about eight hunters had 30 trucks there, and we didn't even go to the main campground. We ended up going to 5 different wildlife areas and two different places in national forest. All but one wildlife area was overcrowded. I'm hunting in unit 85. All that driving and the only cows we saw were less than a mile from the house.

Our hunting spot was also over crowded yesterday. Had it all to ourselves last year; yesterday there were four trucks. Got there earlier this morning and there was only the one, but it had three people. Didn't run into each other, but there wasn't much going on so they might not even come back.

At least saw some bucks on the way in this morning, and a doe running around late morning. Very fresh signs every where and even heard a bugle from a bull. I guess some out of towners got a nice 6x5 bull yesterday as well.

    Things are looking up.

Just wow. That's a lot of destruction right there. I was thinking double charge. Went back and saw that it read double load. Didn't realize it would be that incredible. Hope the shooter came out ok.

Thank you, I'm pretty excited. Can you hotlink the photos for me please? I can't do it from my phone.
