She has the most clinical experience (her school did 12 months of rotations) and interest in primary care, women's health, and pediatrics.

Also, my work is looking to hire an electrical engineer with a PE, we do MEP engineering work for lots of commercial and government projects all over the state and beyond. It's a mid size well established firm, but this is a branch office that is relatively small. Pay and benefits would be competitive.

I'll be checking this thread, or email works if you want to contact me.
Has she checked Sky Ridge Medical center? The area's growing very quickly around Lone Tree and the Meridian area; there seem to be medical centers popping up in a lot of places.

    What is with that?
In SW Littleton area there is an emergency clinic popping up on every corner.
    Is it attributable to ACA?
I don't see many cars at them, and when we rushed to Swedish ER near Wadsworth and Bowles for symptoms of a heart attack, we had 4 professionals helping us immediately.
The bill was huge, but our Insurance beat them down to something reasonable and our co-pay was manageable.

Need to have somewhere for all the illegals to go for taxpayer funded care since the hospital ER's are full.

You’d think that the medical industry would be booming, and that it would be easy for a qualified licensed professional to get a job, but I’ve never seen anyone work harder to find/get a job than my wife is working. I’m just trying to do my part, keep the lights on, and help out how I can.

... not sure what happened to my other post, so here goes again.

I'll ask my wife if she has any helpful info.

FWIW, my PC doc left a small private practice due to O-care. I've never even seen the one doc left there and always see one of the two PA-C. One is pretty young and I think was brought in to replace another that retired. I wonder if O-care has done so much damage to the small practices, that it's having an effect on the PA-C and NP positions?

FWIW, at another specialist provider I see, I generally only ever see the NP. Truth be told, I'd rather see her than the doc that's there.

I think O-care has had a profound effect on the industry as a whole, I think lots of people are leaving the industry due to it, but I also think that there are a lot more businesses participating in the industry as well. My thinking is that ocare is driving some of that, but the demand for medical services is higher now than it ever has been simply because there are more people than ever before.

I think the roadblock in front of her right now is partially of our own construction; She went to school in Texas and did all of her clinical rotations in Texas, so all of her networking is in Texas. She even had job offers stemming from some of her rotations. We knew we wanted to move home to CO, so as soon as she graduated we packed up everything and moved, thinking “oh she’ll have no trouble getting a job.”

I also think some of the problem is that CO is such a nice place to live that the market is a bit flooded, so she’s behind two roadblocks.

Thanks everyone for the tips, I’m forwarding them to her to check out.

She has checked at Sky Ridge and a bunch of the clinics in that area, the ones that have answered the phone or ever called back (less than half of the people she calls), most of them aren’t hiring at all, and a few “might be hiring in 6 months, send me your resume for my files.”

It’s been a very frustrating journey. Thanks for the tip, though.
