A lot of these photos are older collection shots. I have gone through a lot of knives in the past several years. I have culled the collection recently and now I'm down to the ones I use and like the most.
The khukuri is the traditional knife of Nepal. The cutout is called a "cho" It's purpose or symbolism is lost. Even the makers or "kamis" as they are called don't know the true meaning. Some say it represents the hindu symbol of fertility, a cow track, cow horns, etc. Others speculate that it keeps blood on the blade from dripping on to the handle.
The majority of my khuk collection has been passed on. I'm amassing firearms now.![]()
