Good idea on using the shells as water storage! I have a couple I'm going to fill up when I get home.

I was stumped on how to get them to stop rolling around in my car because I figure they are perfect for water storage in the car (also in a pinch the water can be sanitized in the sun for several hours). I then found a place that sells em and they are less than 2 dollars each on this guy's ebay store.

You sir, are a specialist in the art of discovering a welcoming outcome of a particular situation....not a mechanic.

Is any one storing the large 5 gallon water jugs (deep rock)? Also how long will they last. I have started collecting them and filling them.
The 5 gallons are cool but i have noticed they dont seal real great for long term storage, also once you break the factory seal they suck to try to move because as the lids get old they fall off easy so you have to carry upright, and not let them tip over. Had one tip in my volvo, a car pulled me over because there was just water pouring out of the car, 5 gallons loose in a car is a WHOLE lot.![]()
If you try to fix america politically, you will be dead before you step up to the microphone.
When the Oglllala aquifer is finally depleted the entire area will be a desert with nothing on it. Places in Eastern Colorado will too...
Check out coloradozerowaste.com in Longmont. The $35 55 gallon barrels that had distilled water in them are super nice and like new. Not affiliated, just a customer.
ETA: the $15 barrels are good for storing utility water. We have some of those for emergency cleaning, toilet water and then a few of the $35 ones for drinking water.
