I'm for adopting the preservation of posts like Newracer suggested. But when it comes to "adopting the majority of the ARFCOM" rules....ugh....sorry man, that made me cringe. IMO, the ARF folks are WAY to stringent (borderline Brownshirt behavior). For one thing, it drives me nuts concerning their Bump To Top violations and such. It seems the majority of posts I've seen that get violations are just when someone comments, "Hey man, nice piece!" or something similar. ARFCOM is one of the overall least friendly sites for buying and selling, and I periodically frequent all of the major sites.

with a site like this one, you don't really need ar15.com's rules for the EE. but with arfcoms size, you basically have to have very strict rules. I can imagine some of the ding dongs over there running rampent in the EE without a strict set of rules.

That being said, I like the rules they have there. I'd rather not see the same ad bumped every 4 hours. it gives a fresh site to page 1 frequently.

if you want an ad preserved when you buy or commit to buy something, simply quote the post. problem solved.

Its been working fine, don't jack with it now.

arfcom is switching over their for sale forums and they suck.

just because obama's campaign was about change doesn't mean we need to.

it works the way it is. It isn't the websites responsibility to police people and tell them they were bad or not if a deal went south. that goes between the buyer and seller. Unless you want to create a whine and bitch forum (basically GD on arfcom)

RMGO for sale forums get updated, and instantly deleted. saves space and keeps people from checking out things which are already sold.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

I agree with Sniper7. This site is working fine.

Personally, I prefer having an ad deleted after I buy something. I prefer there not be a record for someone to look up what I may be in possession of.

True dat, if either party wants the thread deleted it should be so the disagreeing party is free to start his own...

As far as the whole FTF deal I reserve the right to ask you to verify if you are a resident I also ask you if you are prohibited person, even though I know usualy within 30 seconds if you are are are not, The only time I would ever ask you to sign a paper is if i know you are prohibited because at that point the prohibited person is going to bolt ot attempt to attack me I hope it's the first...

But CRS and USC 2 CO residents may exchange firearms however they choose provided one does not KNOWINGLY transfer a fiream to a prior offender (BTW when the wording of the CRS section change?) thats a bit new. If you want a piece of paper then ask for it but dont worry about how others conduct their commerce...

I'd like to suggest to put a minimum 10 posts and certain amount of time before new member can post in the for sale section. It will help solving the nonresponsive, no location, 1 liner ads. These folks disappeared after few posts anyway.
