We already finished The Boys. I can't believe they were able to kill Homeland like that.

    ...just kidding.

Interesting show. Looking forward to Season 2. Maybe they'll make the season a bit longer? 8 episodes is not enough.

I like the overall theme of The Boys. The inconsistency of the laser eyes bothers me, but that's about it so far.

Reminds me a bit of Brandon Sanderson's SteelHeart, but a little darker.

I think they take the idea in an interesting direction with the military connection, but I'm surprised that no one has drawn a connection to police brutality and gotten butt hurt over it.

Also, who is the character A-train based on? Is that a real super hero from some comic? Rick and Morty had Alan Rails in one episode, but I'm so far out of the super hero loop that I don't know who is making fun of whom.

I think the characters are modeled after DC characters. I definitely see a Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Flash.

It's on the level of fantasy, so maybe folks don't associate it to reality?

They do. Only when it fits an agenda. Other than that. Those who like this sort of show know it's just a series, or movie.

Like Chris Hardwick from (among other things) Talking Dead says, repeatedly. People this is a tv show, not a Documentary.

You're right. The trigger sobbing over stupid shit has gotten way out of hand. Sarah Silverman is the latest example. She's currently on her Crucifixion Apology tour. Saying she, as a liberal, regrets doing a blackface skit in 07. BUT has since moved on and become a better person for her unacceptable behavior.
