The proof of current address to purchase a firearm is a state requirement NOT a Gander Mountain requirement. Gander Mountain price matches ANY and ALL retail prices on anything in the store including firearms.

Sorry, calling BS on the price matching. I went to SW, GM, and called Jensens to see if they would price match on an XDm 9mm. SW wouldn't do it, GM wouldn't do it, and Jensens told that me Neve's must have been selling a stolen firearm to offer them for theprice they were. GM was by far the worst, they were asking $699 for the XDm!! Over $100 from anywhere else. Almost $200 over what Neve's was selling them for. The guy at GM told me they would only price match if was around $20-$30 difference. I won't buy a damn thing from GM.

What I was thinking also..
Yo, bigdog23, if your still out there. Even if GM gave me a $1000 gift certificate, I would be torn between "trying" to sell it or burning it.
Between the complete ineptitude of the employees, and the, shall we say constant overpricing, I won't spend another dime in there. Even if it was "free".
If, I need a good laugh, I'll go in and check them out. But, that would be it.

No, it is a Gander Mountain bullshit requirement.
A month or so I had a Saturday to kill while my wife was hosting a hen party. I went to GM and they had a "special sale" on Ruger LC9's for $369 that ended that day. I passed and went to SW who had them on sale for $339 but they said they were out but would check in the back for the days shipment. The mgr. came back and said they had 20 and could I wait while they logged one in for me. As I was filling out the paperwork I mentioned GM's "special sale" price the mgr. said "that's higher than our regular price".
A year or so ago I did purchase a gun at GM because it was the only one I could find in town. I went through the same BS regarding an address change on the back of my DL and they wouldn't accept the new address on my CCW. I had to go to the service desk and buy a $5 habitat stamp but they took the $5 off the price of the gun.

I will give Gander one +1 to offer it's -100. I was in there looking for a scope and I noticed on the way in that they changed their sign. "All firearms must be checked in with customer service when entering the store. This does not apply to concealed carry permit holders."
Keep Calm and Carry.
