Wicked fast deployment. I broke the tip off, my bad, I know better but needed to pry something and NOW, so, I re-ground the tip to a mini-tanto, and by mini I mean about 1/4". The only problem I have with the knife is the "anti-skid" tape on the body of the knife, it's chewing up my pants pocket. I thought the glass-breaker point on the end would play heck with the pocket, but apparently not so much!
If you send it back to kershaw they'll send you a new knife

I recently moved from my Benchmade Mel Pardue automatic to a SOC Twitch XL tanto. Really REALLY like it.

In fact, I like it so much so I bought a second one for the standard silver blade, silver pocket clip, and pretty wood handle:

Nice, I like that wood handle one, ya know for days I'm not feeling so tactical and all.

Should have gone on to say
    • Knife sits really low in my pocket, not much is visible but the clip.
    • Clip holds pocket firmly, but no so firmly that I'm tearing up my pants when I clip it in place.
    • Profile of the knife is thin in the pocket, and is lightweight but not too much so, barely makes a dress pant pocket sag.
    • Fast easy opening with the flipper or thumb stud, has a back lock (which I prefer) instead of a liner lock that's back far enough to be out of the way but easy to access, also has a lock on the back lock to lock the blade open or closed.
    • Steel and build quality is superb, blade is nice and tight once open with almost no play.
    • Black "TiNi" coating on blade is very good, I've used it on some tough stuff and it barely shows any wear.
    • Handle material of black one feels like a thin piece of steel, coated seeming with the same stuff the blade is.
    • Wood version is just a tiny bit lighter than the black version, very nicely finished.
    • These cost about $65-$75ish on Amazon, and come in a variety of blade styles and finishes.
    • Mine are the XL model with a 3.25" blade. There's also a smaller SOG Twitch model available with a 2.65" blade.
    • ONLY drawbacks I've been able to find are that the handle is a bit wide (not thick) in pocket, narrowing the pocket opening access slightly more than I'm used to (maybe 1/4 inch?). And secondly, because clip allows the knife to sit so low in the pocket, getting it out takes a little bit different technique than I'm used to.

Go ahead and laugh, but I've been carrying a leatherman skeletool for 6 years now. Decent enough blade for everyday use, pliers come in handy all the time, and ya never know when you might need a screw driver or bottle opener. All in a (somewhat) lightweight and slim package.

I have a couple multi tools with me at all times but I don't pocket carry them. Nothing wrong with EDCing a skeletool.

Shrade Old Timer. Belonged to grandpa, grandma gave it to me as graduation gift. Been carrying it ever since.

Have had to have it repaired twice.
